DOOT (Messenger of the Sacred Heart) is a Catholic monthly periodical of Gujarat in India. It is published in Gujarati language. It was first printed in 1911, Bombay in India. To your right is Mr. Jaswant L. Macwan, the sub-editor of DOOT
A tiny village that reads DOOT is Bhumel which is the first village of the world wherein DOOT is now a part of 45 Catholic families. There are 55 Catholic families in Bhumel said Mr. Jaswant L Macwan on a telephonic interview who is the sub-editor of the DOOT committee. He said that out of 55 families 10 families stay separately but they are also part of joint families and so for Doot(Messenger of the Sacred Heart) subscription those 10 families are counted in 45 families as they do share Doot to read every month, from now every month Doot will be read to the all Catholic families of Bhumel.
Mr. Jaswantbhai expressed his joy by saying that it was difficult for some of them to be an active subscriber for DOOT but the youth of the village has voluntarily come up and helped those people financially to have DOOT. He said that Bhumel is the first village that has taken initiative for it with having a motto “Go DOOT”.
Mr. Jaswantbhai said that Bhumel is the history breaking village where DOOT is read in every house from this month onwards. He also said that if every Catholic supports this way, DOOT can grow tremendously and can reach out every Catholic family of the world.

-Vijay Macwan(Bhumel)
Dear Vijay Saheb--You are doing a grand job!! My Late Father, Michael J. Macwan used to read Doot from " God knows when..." He had paid his life-time subscription. Doot was stopped after he died in 1978 ( he was then in UK ). I paid for another year, but, only my wife can read Gujarati, and after nearly 40 years in UK, all my children can understand, but not read Gujarati.Even I was born in Africa, and cannot read Gujarati. But "DOOT" has awakened me. I am a retired person, but please let me know in how little I ( we ) can help our Catholic Families--regards, Albert.
