50 YEARS IN THE SOCIETY OF JESUS - Rt. Bishop Godfrey de Rosario S.J.

 Bishop Godfrey has completed 50 golden years in the Society of Jesus. He has been a happy journey, full of notable successes. He was one of the small groups of Novices who inaugurated the new Novitiate of the Gujarat Jesuit Province in Mt. Abu 50 years ago.

 During his formation in the Papal Seminary at Pune he fell under the spell of Fr. Tony de Mello, and graduated with honours in practical psychology and counseling. While doing a full time job as Vice-Principal of St. Xavier’s Loyola Hall, he boldly attempted to take a Masters in Education, attending classes on weekends in MS University, Baroda. In spite of the short time he could dedicate to the preparation for his final exams, he stood second in the university, missing the gold medal by a few marks. This success earned him the sobriquet of being “the best educated man in the Gujarat Jesuit Province.”

 With these formidable credentials he was first appointed Principal of the High school in Zankhvav and then for several years he was Principal in St. Xavier’s High School, Gandhinagar. He hobnobbed with ministers and secretaries of the Gujarat Government. He made friends with politicians, but he never played politics. His success in Gandhinagar was cut short by being appointed Provincial of the Gujarat Province. He was just two years in this responsible high post; but this short period became his training ground for a still higher post. He was ordained Bishop of Baroda by Cardinal Pimenta on Innocents day 1998.

Bishop Godfrey is well known and appreciated for his bonhomie and ingratiating good manners. He treats guests with the most refined courtesy, and that is one of the reasons for his heavy schedule when he is in Baroda. He has plenty of people who come to visit him bringing along problems, asking for advice, begging for help. They go back generally well pleased. He is also regular in visiting pastorally the various districts of his vast diocese.Congratulations, Bishop Godfrey, on your 50 golden years in the Society of Jesus.

 Nyay Darshan had conducted one year diploma course in legal aid for Social Animators working in various places in Gujarat and Maharashtra. The participants completed the course successfully and were awarded the diploma in legal-aid. Rev. Fr. Jose Changanacherry the provincial of the Society Of Jesus- Gujarat Province was the chief guest. He inspired with his powerful insights and expectation ad reminded about the various laws which help people for the better functioning of the society.

 Rev. Fr.P.D Mathew, the director of the center explains the need of the hour is to work for the dignity of human beings. He said human rights must be made fact and not an idealistic dream.

Prof. Ila Pandya and Rev. Fr. Jerome S.J from Pune province and one of the participants shared about enriching learning experiences and how it contributed to them and other participants in their personal growth.

 Rev. Fr. Jerome said, "I am able to make critical judgments on legal matters, ask questions to officers without fear, and discuss legal matters with others. I am able to give information and direct people to right places and right people. 

 The ceremony marked a historical moment at Nyay Darshan. The participants who completed the legal studies successfully were awarded diploma by Rev. Fr. Jose Changanacherry S.J.

 The  programme  was concluded by  vote  of thanks  given by Sr. Manjula Tuscano O.P.

Golden Jubilee Of Zankhvav Mission

Inaugurated on 06-06-2013 at Rajvadi village Nr. Zankhvav. The first catechist Amar Master from Kavachya Nr. Zankhvav shares his first experience of being a catechist in the video. Jesus calls for His Good News and Amar master is the example for the same. Today the Good news is spread among many in this Mission. There are many who are educated and having government jobs, some are successful farmers, women and girls live with dignity. Two vocations - a priest and a nun have joined from Zankhvav mission. Rt. Bishop Godfrey De Rosario (Baroda Dio.) and Rev. Fr Jose Changnacherry S.J Provincial Of The Society Of Jesus, Gujarat Province were present at the Inauguration Mass and programmes

તા ૦૬-૦૬-૨૦૧૩ ના રોજ ઝંખવાવ ધર્મસભાની સુવર્ણ જયંતીની ઉજવણીની શરૂયાત રાજવાડી ગામે કરવામાં આવી. આ ધર્મસભાના પ્રથમ ધર્મશિક્ષક અમર માસ્તર . તેમનો અનુભવ અહી રજુ કરે છે. ઇસુ  શુભ સંદેશના કાર્ય માટે સૌને બોલાવે છે તેનું આ ઉદાહરણ છે.

આજે આ વિસ્તારમાં શુભ સંદેશ મોટાભાગે ઘરે ઘરે પહોચી શક્યો છે અને આજ ધર્મમંડળીમાંથી ગુજરાતની ધર્મસભાને એક પુરોહિત અને એક સાધ્વીબેન મળેલ છે



આ પ્રસંગે મોટી સંખ્યમાં આવેલ ભક્તજનો તથા પુરોહિતગણ અને સાધ્વીગણની હાજરીથી ઉજવણી રંગતભરી બની હતી

લગ્ન બંધન ? - - રાજેશ ક્રિશ્ચિયન

લગ્ન બંધન ? 

 મને એ સમજાતું નથી કે લગ્ન ને બંધન કેમ કહેવામાં આવે છે . બંધ તો એ  હોઈ જેમાંથી જલ્દી થી જલ્દી છુટકારો મળે  એમ મનમાં ઈચ્છા રહ્યા કરે

 મજાક ખાતર કહીએ તો ગ્રીક ફિલોસોફર સોક્રેટીસે નોધ્યું છે - મારી તો બધાને સલાહ છે  કે જલ્દી થી જલ્દી લગ્ન કરી લો . સુશીલ પત્ની મળે તો તમે ખુશ રહેશો અને કજીયાળી પત્ની મળે તો તમે ફિલોસોફર બની જશો . અરે ભાઈ મજાક છોડો ..... માર્ટીન લ્યુથરના  શબ્દોમાં - " લગ્નજીવન જેવો સુંદર મૈત્રી સભર પ્રેમભર્યો સબંધ બીજો હોઈજ ના શકે "

 આદર્શ લગ્ન જીવન બે મહત્તવની બાબતો  ઉપરજ ટકી શકે. એક   - અરસ પારસ નો નિસ્વાર્થ પ્રેમ અને બે - એક બીજા પ્રત્યે અડગ વિશ્વાસ .

 લગ્ન જીવન માં બે ભિન્ન ભિન્ન વ્યક્તિઓ હવે પછીનું જીવન સાથે ગુજારવા સ્વેચ્છાએ સમંત થાય છે અ એક ઘણીજ અગત્યની બાબત છે બે જુદા જુદા પરિવારમાં - જુદા જુદા માહોલમાં ઉછરેલ સ્વતંત્ર વ્યક્તિત્વ હવેથી નવજીવન શરૂ કરવા માંગે છે . આ નવજીવનના પાયામાં પ્રેમ અને વિશ્વાસ હશે તો તે ઈમારત બુલંદ બનશે અને જ્યાં પ્રેમ હશે ત્યાં આદર પણ હશે      પ્રેમ અને વિશ્વાસ સાથે મળે તો તે ઉત્તમ લગ્ન જીવનમાં પ્રેમ હશે પણ અરસ પરસમાં વિશ્વાસ નહિ હોય  તો તે લગ્ન જીવન "બંધન" બની જશે અને તેમાંથી છુટકારો મેળવવાનો ઈચ્છા થશે   .

 લગ્ન જીવનમાં વિશ્વાશની શું એટલી બધી અગત્યતા છે ? ચાલો આ બાબત સમજીએ . મોંઘવારીના આજના કુટુંબના બે ચેડા ભેગા કરવા માટે પતિ-પત્ની બંનેએ નોકરી વ્યવસાય કરવો જરૂરી બન્યો છે। જયારે બંને વ્યક્તિઓ જુદી જુદી જગ્યાએ કામ કરતા હશે તો એક બીજા ઉપર અડગ વિશ્વાસ રાખવો જ  પડશે। જરા જેટલી પણ શંકા ઉદ્ ભવે તો લગ્ન જીવન ઝેર સમાન લાગશે; બંધન લાગશે અને જયારે શંકા ઉદ્ ભવે ત્યાં વિશ્વાસ ગાયબ અને જયારે એકબીજા પાત્ર પર વિશ્વાસ જ ના રહે ત્યાં પ્રેમનું બાષ્પીભવન .

 આથીજ સુખી સંસાર માટે બંને પાત્રોનો એકબીજા પર સંપૂર્ણ વિશ્વાસ રાખવો ખુબજ જરૂરી છે   પતિ- પત્ની બંને એ એવું કશું વર્તન ન કરવું જેના થાકી બીજા પાત્રને શંકા ઉદ્ ભવે .  એક વ્યક્તિ પોતાના સાથી ઉપર સંપૂર્ણ વિશ્વાસ ધરાવે છે ત્યારે તે ચોક્કસપણે માને  છે કે સામેનું પાત્ર સંપૂર્ણ સત્ય ઉચ્ચારે છે . આ અડગ વિશ્વાસનો ભંગકડી ન થાય તે જોવું। જો આ વિશ્વાસનો ભંગ ન થાય તો લગ્ન જીવનની વૈતરણી પાર અન્યથા નવ ડૂબી જાય. આવા અડગ વિશ્વાસ માટે બંને પાત્રો વચ્ચે ધનિષ્ઠ મિત્રતા હોવી જરૂરી છે એવી મિત્રતા જ્યાં બધી લાગણીઓ ખુલ્લા મને દર્શાવી શકાય અને જ્યાં આવી નિખાલસ મિત્રતા હશે તો તે વ્યક્તિના પ્રેમમાં વારંવાર પડવાનું મન થયા કરશે .

 આથી જ  લગ્ન જીવન માટે  સાથીના વિશ્વાસ પાત્ર બનો જ્યાં પ્રમાણિક વિશ્વાસ હશે ત્યાં આદર અને પ્રેમ જરૂર ઉછાળા ભરતો જોવા મળશે અને જયારે લગ્ન જીવન આદર્શ હશે તો દુનિયાની કોઈ તાકાત તેને હચમચાવી શકશે નહિ; ત્યાં ફક્ત સુખી, સુંદર પ્રેમભર્યું, કિલ્લોલ કરતુ કુટુંબ જોવા મળશે એમાં શંકા ને કોઈ સ્થાન નથી
