Nadiad Deanery organised International Women’s day at Salun on 02-03-2014 Sunday. Nadiad deanery has six parishes. Around 400 women from the six parishes gathered at Salun accompanied by sisters of their respective parishes. We began the procession from the bus stand to the Divine Mercy Church compound. We were led by the young girls with decorated pots on their heads. There were 3 well-known persons Smt. Induben Rao, Sr. Lalita who are very much associated with women’s organizations who spoke about the role of woman in a family. They focused on the following points:
- The importance of education and self confidence that builds the person.
- The role of a Mother to bring up her children by molding them with the self respect that each woman should have of oneself.
Women themselves acted out the day today life situation in the family. Qudos to those women who courageously could come forward with a solid message and make it more colorful and vibrant, they presented beautiful dances that made everyone gaethered women happy.
At the end of the program Rev. Fr. Francis Xavier read a passage from the Gospel on the role of Mary our Mother and encouraged the women to be like her.
