(24 July. 10- RV) International religious organizations are calling for a repeal of Pakistan’s blasphemy law following the murder of two Christian brothers in Faisalabad earlier this week.
Pakistan's controversial blasphemy law, which provides for a mandatory death sentence or life imprisonment even in cases of unintentional blasphemy offences, is often misused against Christians and others to settle property and personal disputes.
The latest killings triggered a fresh wave of violence and unrest as church leaders prepare to observe the one year anniversary of the killing of eight Christians in nearby Gojra.
