નરસી મહેતાની આ પંક્તિ આજે મને સાચી પડતી હોય તેમ લાગે છે જયારે બેન રેગીનાના જીવનમાં ડોકિયું કરીએ તો પ્રેમ, પ્રાર્થના, પવિત્રતા અને પરિશ્રમના પર્યાયી એટલે બેન રેગીના જોવા મળે .
મૂળ વડતાલ ગામના વતની બેન રેગીનાનો જન્મ તા 07-07-1938માં થયો હતો. પોલિયાના રોગે તેમને ભરખી લીધા પણ મન મક્કમ અને કઠોર પરિશ્રમ તેમના જીવનનો ધ્યેય બની ગયો. બેન રેગીના બિચારા બની બેસી રહે તેમ નહોતા. ભણવામાં હોશિયાર અને જીવનમાં કંઈક કરવું છે એવી ધગશવાળા આ બેનમાં પોતાનું જીવન પ્રભુ માટે જીવવું એવી હાકલ બાળપણમાં સંત મારિયા ગોરેતીની જીવન કથા વાંચી ને મળી અને આ જીવન કથાએજ તેમને સન્યાસી બનવાની પ્રેરણા આપી.
સ્વ. સિસ્ટર ઝેવિયર એલ. ડી. પાસેથી બાળપણમાં ધર્મ શિક્ષણ મેળવ્યું હતું . બાળપણમાંજ જયારે તેમના ભાઈ અમસ્તે પૂછતા કે, "બેન તું મોટી થઇ ને શું કરીશ?" ત્યારે બેન રેગીના કહેતા કે, "હું તો સાધ્વી બનીશ" ત્યારે ભાઈ કહેતા તારા પગની ખોળને લીધે તી સાધ્વી ના ની શકે પણ હું ફાધર બની શકીશ .
ઇ.સ.1954માં બેન રેગીનાએ ફાઈનલ પાસ કર્યું અને તરતજ તેઓને વડતાલની મિશન સ્કુલમાં શિક્ષિકા તરીકેની નોકરી મળી ગઈ. આ શિક્ષણ કાર્ય કરતા તેમની ઈચ્છા સિસ્ટર બનવાની હતી એ બાબતે તેમણે તપાસ કરાવી તો તેમને જાણવા મળ્યું કે તેમણે બીશપની પરવાનગી માંગવી પડે જે અનુસંધાનમાં બીશપ સાથે પત્ર વ્યવહાર કર્યો. કમનસીબે બિશપ તરફથી પરવાનગી ન મળી પણ બેન રેગીનાએ મક્કમ નિર્ધાર કરી જ લીધો હતો કે પોતે સન્યાસી જીવન જ પસંદ કરશે. તે સમય દરમ્યાન સિ. જેરોમ એફ. સી. (ડોટર્સ ઓફ ધ ક્રોસ) ગમે ગમે પોતાનું પ્રેષિતિક કાર્ય કરતા. વડતાલ ગામમાં પણ તેઓ જતાં. બેન રેગીના સિ. જેરોમને મળ્યા અને પોતાની સિસ્ટર બનવાની ઈચ્છા વ્યક્ત કરી.
સ્વ. સિ.જેરોમે કહ્યું, "તમારી સિસ્ટર બનવાની ઈચ્છા છે તો ચાલો, પોપની પરવાનગી લઈએ." સ્વ. સિસ્ટર જેરોમની મદદથી પોપ તરફથી પરવાનગી મળી ગઈ .
ઇ.સ.1961 માં બેન રેગીના આણંદમાં સેન્ટ ફ્રાન્સીસ ઝેવિયર હોમમાં સી. જેરોમ સાથે આવ્યા. સી. જેરોમે તેમને નડિયાદ મોન્ટેસરી કોર્સ માટે મોકલ્યા. નાની દીકરીઓની કોન્વેન્ટમાં રહેવાની વ્યવસ્થા કરી આપી 1962 માં આ કોર્સ પૂરો કરી આણંદ વિમલ મરિયમ સ્કુલમાં શિક્ષિકા તરીકેની સેવા શરૂ કરી અને ત્યાર પછી 1969માં બિશપના હસ્તે ખાનગી વ્રત અને 1978માં છેલ્લા વ્રત લીધા. 1962 થી આજ દિન સુધી બેન રેગીના સેન્ટ ફ્રાન્સીસ ઝેવિયર હોમમાં પોતાનું સેવા કાર્ય કરી રહ્યા, ત્યારથી આજ દિન સુધી હજારો બાળકોને પ્રભુનું જ્ઞાન આપ્યું છે અને પ્રાર્થનામય તરફ દોર્યા છે તેમણે હજારો બાળકોને ખ્રિસ્ત પ્રસાદ અને પ્રાયશ્ચિત સંસ્કાર માટે તૈયાર કરતા આવ્યા છે.
બાળકોના વહાલા અને સર્વમાં ભળી જનારા બેન રેગીનાની આ ઉત્તમ સેવા આપનારને નામદાર પોપ સાહેબ બેનેડીક્ટ સોળમાંએ તેમના પ્રેષિતિક કાર્યને ધ્યાનમાં લઇ બેન રેગીનાને પુરસ્કાર આપી તેમને બિરદાવ્યા છે .

ઝંખવાવના કેટેકીસ્ટ પ્રભાતભાઈ વસાવા પ્રભુ મહિમા કાજે થયેલ સારાં-નરસાં અનુભવો અહી રજુ છે. પ્રભુ સંદેશના વિરોધ માટે તેમની ઉપર પથ્થર ફેકવામાં આવતા તો વળી, રસ્તા ઉપર અવરોધ બની રહેતા લોકોનો સામનો, ઘણી વખત જાનથી પણ જોખમી બની રહ્યો હતો. પરંતુ "સર્વ કાઈ પ્રભુ કાજે" માની આગળ વધ્યા. આજે જયારે ઇસુ પ્રભુમાં લીન થયેલા ભક્તોને નિહાળે છે ત્યારે તેમનું દુ:ખ ભૂલી પ્રભુનો અભાર માને છે.
બી. બી. એન.ના ઈન્ટરવ્યું બાદ હજારોની સંખ્યામાં ભેગા થયેલા ભક્તો સામે જોઈ તેઓ બોલી ઉઠયા, "આ મબલક પાક ઉતારવા માટે પ્રભુના આશીર્વાદ ઉતર્યા છે. આજે પ્રભુ માટે વેઠેલું દુ:ખ મીઠું લાગે છે, વહાલું લાગે છે."

It was a time of Barvatias (gangsters) in the Kheda district years ago. It was hard for people to travel alone during the day time. The Barvatias used to attack people and rob everything they had. During this time Late Fr. Charles had wild dream to attract the Barvatias and Bareyas of kanjoda village.
Chaklasi Church
The original missionary who built this chapel was Late Fr. Charles Gomez SJ {Bishop of Ahmedabad}
The land was tilled by Punembhai who was a great admirer of Late Bishop Charlie and was the source of contacting other Bareya famillies in Kanjoda and Chaklasi Village.
Bishop Charlie had a large photograph of the gang of Barvatias he took to Mt..Mary Bandra..when he was the cycling walla (man who rides cycle) father of Kanjoda and Chaklasi.
He sincerely believed they had the Baptism of Desire. With that intention he built the chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes in Chaklasi a distance away from the Christian street. He must have got that land gifted as no one wished to be close to the Tanner's Plot. There was already a chapel dedicated to St. Peter and two bits of agricultural land. The famous Master who looked after the chapel was Master Herman Polycarp.
Once the cyclewalla Bishop Charlie got infected with T.B. He had to be sent to Pachgani for recovery and with that all the Barvatias were gone.
Ravjibhai Punembhai the son of Punembhai remained as care taker of Kanjoda Farm, cultivating Tobacco. Until late Fr. Chacko SJ took over.
So Chaklasi is story of vocation and migration.

On 5 December 1949, Father Avellí accompanied us, FIVE Lay-Brothers: Araquistain, Recalde, Bastida, Gil & myself to meet the DSP at Kaira. From Anand we went to Nadiad by train. From Nadiad station we went to visit the Catholic Church and...to our surprise, me met in our way the great Charly Gomes lifting his cycle over the iron gate at the fence, in order to cross the Railway lines and proceed to KANJORA!!!!! (Kanjoda)
Obviously, we were really astonished to see directly a missionary in real action: Charly had his white cassok lifted up as it was customary, he was wearing a kaki colonial topi, very long wild bear, his arms holding a cycle in the air... then crossing the railway-na patha, and jumping on his cycle, speeding away towards Kanjora!!!!

ગઈ કાલે તા 11-02-2013 ના રોજ લુર્ડઝના માતા મરિયમનો તહેવાર હતો. આ પ્રસંગે ચકલાસી ગામમાં જે નડિયાદ તાબામાં આવેલ છે ત્યાં પણ તહેવાર ધામધૂમથી ફળિયાના લોકોના સાથસહકારથી ઉજવવામાં આવ્યો હતો.ચકલાસી ગામના પણ, નોકરી અને ધંધા અર્થે જે લોકો બહાર રહે છે તે સર્વે પોતાના યથાશક્તિ દાન આપી અપાવી હાજર રહ્યા હતા. ફળિયાની સીમાએ આવેલ અહી લુર્ડઝના માતા મરિયમનું દેવાલય આવેલ છે તેનું સમારકામ કરી તેને રળિયામણું બનાવવામાં આવ્યું છે.
આ પ્રસંગે નડિયાદ તાબાના સભાપુરોહિત રેવ. ફા. બ્રીટો, રેવ. ફા.અન્તોન દ્વારા ખ્રિસ્તયજ્ઞ અર્પણ કરવામાં આવ્યો હતો. લોકો તથા સિસ્ટર ઇન્દુ એલ ડીની હાજરીથી આ પ્રસંગ ચકલાસી ખ્રિસ્તી સમુદાય માટે યાદગાર દિન બની રહ્યો હતો.

On 11 February 1858, Bernadette Soubirous went with her sisters Toinette and Jeanne Abadie to collect some firewood and bones in order to buy some bread. After taking off her shoes and stockings to wade through the water near the Grotto of Massabielle, she said she heard the sound of two gusts of wind (coups de vent) but the trees and bushes nearby did not move. A wild rose in a natural niche in the grotto, however, did move. From the niche, or rather the dark alcove behind it, "came a dazzling light, and a white figure." She was dressed all in white, apart from the blue belt fastened around her waist and the golden yellow roses, one on each foot, the colour of her rosary. Bernadette tried to keep this a secret, but Toinette told her mother. After parental cross-examination, she and her sister received corporal punishment for their story.
Three days later, Bernadette returned to the Grotto. She had brought holy water as a test that the apparition was not of evil provenance, and demanded that if she were from God, she must stay, but if she were evil, she must go away; however, she said the vision only inclined her head gratefully when the water was cast and she made her demands.
Bernadette's companions are said to have become afraid when they saw her in ecstasy. She remained ecstatic even as they returned to the village. On 18 February, she spoke of being told by the Lady to return to the Grotto over a period of two weeks. She quoted the apparition: I promise to make you happy, not in this world, but in the next.
After that the news spread and her parents took interest. Bernadette was ordered by her parents to never go there again. It was a shock when people heard her story as it was so unlikely. She went anyway, and on 24 February, Bernadette related that the apparition asked for prayer and penitence for the conversion of sinners. The next day, she said the apparition asked her to dig in the ground and drink from the spring she found there. This made her disheveled and some of her supporters were dismayed, but this act revealed the stream that soon became a focal point for pilgrimages.
Although it was muddy at first, the stream became increasingly clean. As word spread, this water was given to medical patients of all kinds, and many reports of miraculous cures followed. Seven of these cures were confirmed as lacking any medical explanations by Professor Verges in 1860. The first person with a “certified miracle” was a woman whose right hand had been deformed as a consequence of an accident. Several miracles turned out to be short-term improvement or even hoaxes, and Church and government officials became increasingly concerned. The government fenced off the Grotto and issued stiff penalties for anybody trying to get near the off-limits area. In the process, Lourdes became a national issue in France, resulting in the intervention of emperor Napoleon III with an order to reopen the grotto on 4 October 1858. The Church had decided to stay away from the controversy altogether.
Bernadette, knowing the local area well, managed to visit the barricaded grotto under cover of darkness. There, on 25 March, she said she was told: "I am the Immaculate Conception" ("que soy era immaculada concepciou"). On Easter Sunday, 7 April, her examining doctor stated that Bernadette, in ecstasy, was observed to have held her hands over a lit candle without sustaining harm. On 16 July, Bernadette went for the last time to the Grotto. I have never seen her so beautiful before, she reported.
The Church, faced with nationwide questions, decided to institute an investigative commission on 17 November 1858. On 18 January 1860, the local bishop finally declared that: The Virgin Mary did appear indeed to Bernadette Soubirous. These events established the Marian veneration in Lourdes, which together with Fátima, is one of the most frequented Marian shrines in the world, and to which between 4 and 6 million pilgrims travel annually.
In 1863, Joseph-Hugues Fabisch was charged to create a statue of the Virgin according to Bernadette's description. The work was placed in the grotto and solemnly dedicated on 4 April 1864 in presence of 20,000 pilgrims.
The veracity of the apparitions of Lourdes is not an article of faith for Catholics. Nevertheless, all recent Popes visited the Marian shine. Benedict XV, Pius XI, and John XXIII went there as bishops, Pius XII as papal delegate. Working with Le Pelerinage de Lourdes he also issued, an encyclical on the hundredth anniversary of the apparitions in 1958. John Paul II visited Lourdes three times.

I have convoked you to this Consistory, not only for the three canonizations, but also to communicate to you a decision of great importance for the life of the Church. After having repeatedly examined my conscience before God, I have come to the certainty that my strengths, due to an advanced age, are no longer suited to an adequate exercise of the Petrine ministry. I am well aware that this ministry, due to its essential spiritual nature, must be carried out not only with words and deeds, but no less with prayer and suffering. However, in today’s world, subject to so many rapid changes and shaken by questions of deep relevance for the life of faith, in order to govern the bark of Saint Peter and proclaim the Gospel, both strength of mind and body are necessary, strength which in the last few months, has deteriorated in me to the extent that I have had to recognize my incapacity to adequately fulfill the ministry entrusted to me. For this reason, and well aware of the seriousness of this act, with full freedom I declare that I renounce the ministry of Bishop of Rome, Successor of Saint Peter, entrusted to me by the Cardinals on 19 April 2005, in such a way, that as from 28 February 2013, at 20:00 hours, the See of Rome, the See of Saint Peter, will be vacant and a Conclave to elect the new Supreme Pontiff will have to be convoked by those whose competence it is.
Dear Brothers, I thank you most sincerely for all the love and work with which you have supported me in my ministry and I ask pardon for all my defects. And now, let us entrust the Holy Church to the care of Our Supreme Pastor, Our Lord Jesus Christ, and implore his holy Mother Mary, so that she may assist the Cardinal Fathers with her maternal solicitude, in electing a new Supreme Pontiff. With regard to myself, I wish to also devotedly serve the Holy Church of God in the future through a life dedicated to prayer.

(Vatican Radio) Pope Benedict XVI announced his resignation from the Petrine office on Monday morning, effective February 28th, 2013 at 8PM Rome Time. The Director of the Press Office of the Holy See, Fr. Federico Lombardi, SJ, gave a briefing to journalists in the Press Office of the Holy See at 12:30 PM Monday afternoon, during which he clarified the following points:
Pope Benedict XVI has given his resignation freely, in accordance with Canon 332 §2 of the Code of Canon Law.
Pope Benedict XVI will not take part in the Conclave for the election of his successor.
Pope Benedict XVI will move to the Papal residence in Castel Gandolfo when his resignation shall become effective.
When renovation work on the monastery of cloistered nuns inside the Vatican is complete, the Holy Father will move there for a period of prayer and reflection.

In 1963 the Holy See formally erected the Major Superiors Conference of India (CRI) and approved its statutes. The same year it became a Registered Society under the Registration Act of 1860.
The Conference saw two major phases of changes during the course of its march to Golden. Today it functions as Major Superiors Conference as well as conference of all the religious of India. Its national, regional and local structures make it a body of 1,30,000 religious men and women.

વતન સ્પેન પિતા રોમન પીઝા તથા માતા જીજસ જેસુઆનું તૃત્તીય સંતાન ફાદર પરીઝા.તેમનું પૂરુ નામ રેવ ફા લોપેઝ દે પરીઝા જોસ મારિયા. તેમનો જન્મ 13 મેં 1917 ફાતિમાના માતા મરિયમના પર્વના દિને થયો. 1 લી ઓક્ટોબર 1933ના દિને ઇસુ સંઘમાં જોડાયા. 30 જુલાઈ 1946 પુરોહિતદિક્ષા મળી અને 26 જાન્યુઆરી 1951 પ્રજાસતાક દિને તેમનું ગુજરાતમાં આગમન થયું. ગુજરાતમાં આવી સૌ પ્રથમ ગુજરાતી ભાષા શીખી કાલઘેલી ગુજરાતી ભાષામાં તેમણે મિશનરી કાર્યનો શુભારંભ કર્યો. તેમણે નડિયાદ, આણંદ, આમોદ, ગોઠડામાં મિશનરી કાર્યોની મહેક પ્રસરાવી.આજે 97માં વર્ષે પણ ગામડી-આણંદમાં અને નજીકના ગામડાઓમાં કૌટુંબિક મુલાકાતો લઇ ઇસુ મૂલ્યોનું જતન કરી રહ્યા છે. પોતાના જીવનના 24 વર્ષો આમોદમાં અને 10 વર્ષ ગોઠડામાં વિતાવ્યા
ફાધર પરીઝાનું સમગ્ર જીવન શ્રદ્ધાની જ્યોત છે "પ્રભુ ઇસુમાં શ્રદ્ધા મજબુત કરો, પૂરી શ્રદ્ધાથી ધર્મકાર્યો કરો, યોગ્ય રીતે સંસ્કારો ગ્રહણ કરો, નમૂનારૂપ ખ્રિસ્ત જીવન જીવો, બાળકોને ઈસુના મુલ્યો શીખવો, કુટુંબમાં ગુલાબમાળાનું રટણ કરો યુવાનો મોજશોખથી દુર રહો, પવિત્ર બનો, ઈસુની નજીક આવો " આ તેમનો જીવન સદેશ છે .
દાંપત્ય જીવન સબંધી સમસ્યાઓમાં તેઓ સક્રિય ભૂમિકા ભજવે છે. પરિવારમાં લગ્નવિચ્છેદ અટકાવા સતત પ્રયત્નશીલ રહે છે. ફાદરના સનિષ્ઠ પ્રયત્નોથી કેટલાય લગ્નો વિચ્છેદ થતા અટકયા છે. પરધર્મી સાથે લગ્ન કરેલ યુવક - યુવતી તથા તેમના પરિવારને કેથોલિક લગ્ન કરાવવા સતત મંડ્યા રહે છે . આજે તેમની ડાયરીમાં પરિવારની માહિતી, સ્ત્રીનું પિયર વગેરે લખાયેલું છે .
' તમે અદનામાં અદના માટે જે કરો તે મારા માટે કરો છો ' પોતાના કાર્યકાળ દરમ્યાન વિવિધ ધર્મવિભાગોમાં કેટલાય ગરીબ પરિવારોને તાર્યા છે. કેટલાયનું ભવિષ્ય ઉજળું બનાવ્યું છે આજે પણ ગામડીમાં કેટલાય ગરીબો ફાધરની નીચે ઉતારવાની રાહ જુએ છે. ફાધર ઝભ્ભામાં હાથ નાખી જે છે તે આપી દે છે.
ધર્મગુરુઓની ટીકા કરનારાઓને ફાધર સણસણતો જવાબ આપે છે અને કહેતા ' ઈસુના શિષ્યો ગરીબ માછીમારો હતા તેમનામાં ઉણપો હોવા છતાય તેઓ શુભસંદેશના વાહકો બન્યા. ધર્મગુરૂઓ પણ માણસ છે તેમનામાં પણ મર્યાદાઓ છે ધર્મગુરુઓ પણ સમાજમાંથી આવે છે તેમની ખામીઓ શોધવા કરતા તેમના સારા કાર્યોને બિરદાવીએ .'
"દાદા" ના હુલામણા નામથી ઓળખાતા ફાધર પરીઝાએ ગોઠડામાં ફાતિમા વિધ્યાયનો પ્રારંભ કર્યો આજે આ સંસ્થાએ તાજેતરમાં ફાધર પરીઝાના અતિથિપણા હેઠળ રજત જયંતીની ઉજવણી કરી .
ગોઠડામાં તેમનું મિશન કાર્ય મેં નજરે જોયું છે . સાંજે સાયકલ લઇ નીકળે, ગોઠડા પહોચે અને સવારના છ વાગ્યાનો ખ્રિસ્ત યજ્ઞ અર્પણ કરે .
ધર્મસભા માટે પોતાની જાત ઘસી નાખનાર ' ભલા ભરવાડ ', જીવતા સંત , દાદા શતાયુ પૂર્ણ કરે તેવી પરમપિતાને પ્રાર્થના.

ગત રવિવાર તા 03-02-2013 ના રોજ નિરાધારોની માતાનું ધામ, ફતેગંજ-વડોદરા ખાતે વડોદરામાં વસવાટ કરતા કેથોલિક વિધવા બહેનો માટેનો કાર્યક્રમ યોજવામાં આવ્યો હતો.
અહીના સભાપુરોહિત રેવ ફા લોરેન્સ દ્વારા આ સમગ્ર કાર્યક્રમનું આયોજન કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું. મનોરંજન અને પ્રાર્થના દ્વારા સર્વે બહેનોને પ્રભુના પ્રેમનો અનુભવ કરાવ્યો હતો. આ પ્રસંગે સાડી આપી સર્વ એકત્ર થયેલ વિધવા બહેનોને સન્માનિત કરવામાં આવ્યાં હતાં.
આજે સિનીયર સીટીઝન ફોરમ ગામડી- આણંદ દ્વારા તેનો પાંચમો વાર્ષિક દિન ભવ્યતાથી ઉજવવામાં આવ્યો હતો. આ શુભ પ્રસંગના દિવસે આ ફોરમના પ્રણેતા રેવ. ફા. આલ્બર્ટ એસ. જે. નો જન્મ દિવસ હોઈ તે ઉજવણી પણ ભેગા થયેલ વડીલો દ્વારા કરવામાં આવી હતી.
આણંદ પેરીશના આર્થિક રીતે પછાત બાળકો માટે તેમણે શિષ્યવૃત્તિની શરૂયાત કરેલ છે આ ચાલુ વર્ષે 54 વિદ્યાર્થીઓને આ શિષ્યવૃત્તિ દ્વારા ઉમદા મદદ કરવામાં આવી હતી આ સારી પ્રવૃતિને વધુ વેગ મળે તે અર્થે સિનીયર સીટીઝન ફોરમ દ્વારા આજે પંચોતેર હજાર રૂપિયા ભેગા કરી દાન આપવામાં આવ્યું હતું.
વડીલશ્રી જોસેફભાઈ શાહ આ શ્રદ્ધા વર્ષ દરમ્યાન પવિત્ર મારિયા પ્રત્યેનો તેમનો ઉમદા પ્રેમ અને અનુભવ તથા માઉન્ટ મેરી, મુબઈની તેમની પદયાત્રાનો અનુભવ અહી રજુ કરે છે.
