Katkuva Medo - A religious get together at Katkuva-Dadhvada

Vedanamurtu Mata Mariyam-Katkuva
Katkuva is a village in Dadhvada Parish in South Gujarat. It is surrounded by hills and trees in jungle. On the top of the hill a small chapel Vedanamurtu Mata Mariyam is built - Pieta - an emotionally charged incarnation of a mother cradling her lifeless son. It is also known as Kalvary Dungari because of the Stations of the Cross is built on the way from down to the chapel on the hill for the people to pray.

A religious get together (Medo) is organized by the people of the Dadhvada Parish on fourth Sunday of the Lent every year. A lot of people visit the place throughout the year especially in Lent. The pilgrims from neighboring parishes, Anand, Lambhvel, fagni, Nadiad, Dabhan, Umreth, Baroda, Surat and Bhestan came and visited Katkuva on this religious get together. The Katha - story telling of the life of Christ with hymns - by Rev. Fr. Ignas Canis and his team was also organized pervious night. Rev. Fr.
