Italian Jesuit Missionary expired in Kerala Province

Fr Zucol Linus (KER) 98/70, the last Italian Missionary in Kerala Province expired at 11.30 p.m. on 06 January 2014 in Calicut.

Fr.Zucol SJ was the Parish Priest of Mariapuram Church when he died. For the last 40 years he served this parish as parish priest. He was fully involved in the Evangelization and welfare work among the dalits and tribals in Kerala during his 70 years of missionary service in India. He bought land and constructed more than 7000 houses for the poor and established 28 parishes and constructed churches. He has shared Christ with several thousands of people. He was still the parish priest of a parish when he died. He must have been the oldest parish priest in the world. He will be burried in his parish at Mariapuram, near Kannur today 08 Jan 2014 at 04:00 pm
