The Loyola Hall-Ahmedabad Jesuit community celebrated the Ruby Jubilee, the 40th anniversary of the Ordination of Rev. Fr Hedwig Lewis on 17 April, 2017.
Rev. Fr. Hedwig, who was the main celebrant, revealed in the introduction that thanks to several “self-therapies” he has been practicing for the past seven years to improve his health, as well as through the intercession of his patron saint, Bld Bernard Francis de Hoyos, he was feeling confident enough to officiate at a public function for the first time in 22 years, since his illness in 1995.
Abp Stanny Fernandes, who had represented Gujarat Province at Rev. Fr. Hedwig’s ordination,
Rev. Fr. Francis Parmar (Jesuit Provincial-Gujarat Province) , Rev. Fr. Ishanand and other Jesuit fathers were present for this occasion.
The inspiring Eucharist closed with a brief felicitation, followed by a grand feast for Jesuits.
